Frequently Asked Questions

Is e-invoicing mandatory in the UAE?

Yes. UAE e-invoicing is required under Ministerial Decisions 243 and 244 of 2025 and is being rolled out in phases. It becomes mandatory on 1 January 2027 for businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more. Businesses below that size follow from 1 July 2027.

What are the UAE e-invoicing deadlines?

Businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an ASP by 30 October 2026 and begin e-invoicing on 1 January 2027. Businesses below AED 50 million must appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027 and begin on 1 July 2027. Government entities begin on 1 October 2027. The Ministry of Finance moved the first ASP date from 31 July 2026 to 30 October 2026, and the go-live date did not change. A voluntary pilot began on 1 July 2026. That date is not a deadline.

Is there a turnover threshold, and who exactly is in scope?

Yes. The first phase is based on annual revenue. The Ministry counts revenue as the gross income you earned in your most recent accounting period. Being VAT registered does not decide scope on its own. Sales to individual consumers (B2C) are currently outside the system, but the Ministry may change this. Some details, such as special cases and any future date changes, are not fully clear yet. We do not want to guess, so please confirm your case with your tax advisor or the Ministry of Finance.

What is an ASP for UAE e-invoicing?

An Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is a Peppol-accredited service provider in the UAE, approved by the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry requires every ASP to be a Peppol-certified service provider. It checks your invoice, sends it over the Peppol network, and shares the required data with the tax authority. In-scope businesses must appoint one.

Is Tally an MoF-approved ASP in the UAE?

Yes. Tally Software Solutions FZCO is on the Ministry of Finance list of Accredited Service Providers, with Accreditation Number 162503. You can check it on the Ministry's website. TallyPrime is the software you use to connect to it. When you appoint your ASP, you select Tally Software Solutions FZCO.

How does an invoice travel from TallyPrime to my buyer?

You record the sale. TallyPrime creates a PINT AE e-invoice and checks it. Tally, as your ASP, sends it across the Peppol five-corner model to your buyer, and the required tax data goes to the Federal Tax Authority. You follow the status inside TallyPrime.

Do I need a separate tool or portal for TallyPrime e-invoicing UAE?

No. Creating, checking, sending, and tracking all happen inside TallyPrime. You visit the EmaraTax portal only once to appoint your ASP.

What happens if a business does not follow the rules?

Penalties are set under Cabinet Decision No. 106 of 2025. Invoices may also be treated as non-compliant, and you may face closer checks during audits. Acting early helps you avoid last-minute problems.

How do I buy TallyPrime e-invoicing in the UAE?

New users can buy TallyPrime Gold or TallyPrime Silver from us and start with e-invoicing. Existing users should update to the latest release and contact us to enable it. An active Tally Software Service subscription is needed for connected services. Tally has stated that customers on the latest release with an active subscription pay nothing extra for e-invoice generation.

What else does TallyPrime do for my business?

It covers accounting and inventory, VAT filing, business reports, smart banking with payments and accounting together, payroll, WhatsApp document sharing, and auto backup.
